The beauty of Pulau Rawa / Rawa Island

Hi!!!! like finally :D I wanted to blog about this since last year.. but I don't have the free time to do so.

Here am I to blog about this after a year. I was preparing for final of last semester on April of last year, and was too excited for the final semester, hence I planned this trip before we finished final. :P

How I got to know about this island?
I read a post shared from Facebook, a post about the islands in Johor, before that, I never knew that Johor has so many beautiful islands and they are so nearby to my hometown - Mersing. So we chosen Rawa as it is the nearest from Mersng jetty and easier to reach there. Another reason is because of the sea slide, which I saw from a post share by a blogger.

I like Rawa because it is not a hot travel destination like Redang/Tioman. Hence, it is a very peaceful beach with not many tourists at there. Definitely a good place to relax yourself.

So... time to share the package I would recommend to you, a little bit about Rawa Island, how to get to the beautiful island and some photos we had taken,

Introduction of Pulau Rawa
Pulau Rawa is owned by a Johor Sultan. Surprisingly, Rawa has two small resorts only. Therefore, you can only choose Resort A or Resort B.

Packages to choose.
Resort A: Rawa Island Resort
An expensive, looks like a 4/5 stars resort, with many choices of accommodation. They offer full board package which includes boat transfer from Mersing jetty to island, accommodation and meals.
Package excludes the rental of snorkeling equipment.
As what I remember, the package is more than RM 800/person. If you are looking for a luxury stay, you may contact or email them @
Telephone: +607 799 1204 / +607 799 1205
Email: rawaisland@live.com

Resort B: Alang's Rawa
Our choice! with no regret!
Do visit their website for the updated rate.
Please email them to do booking.
Telephone: 0167297383
Email: reservations@alangsrawa.com / alangsrawa@gmail.com

We had 8 people, so they suggested us to take the group room (which is actually for 6 people, but they added 2 extra beds for us and this group room is limited, only 1/2 group rooms are available if I am not mistaken). The interior of the group room is so freaking nice (picture will be shared below), just nice for a group of friends.

The rate we got that time is RM 465 + 16% tax/person for weekday. (Unfortunately, rate for weekend is so much higher). The price inclusive of 2 nights' accommodation, boat transfers, all meals, exclude drinks.

The group room is at upstair (half- A frame), downstair got 2 rooms for other guests.
The only 2 bad experiences we had for the room,
-The house is made by woods, so every step on the room can be heard clearly at downstair. 8 of us just made the guests of downstair moved to other room. LOL
-We have 2 own bathrooms, which is good. BUT I guess because the water pipe is not so canggih there, so during specific hours, we got so less water goes to our bathroom, and we have difficulty to shower. (especially the moment you wanted to wash off the shampoo on your hair)

Oh ya, we got our masks, snorkels and kayaks for FREE, yes they are free by Alang's Rawa! (Deposit: RM 50/equipment)

Remember to bring CASH to there, as they just accept cash.

How to get to Rawa Island?

Before we head to Rawa, we spent two day at Johor Bahru. Shopped at Johor Premium Outlet and discovered nice foods around.
1 night stayed at Kai's house and another night stayed at my grandma's house.

My grandma's house at Jemeluang, Johor, which is so nearby to Mersing jetty. So we headed to Mersing on the next early morning from my grandma's house.

We reached Mersing jetty, and taken breakfast there while waiting for the arrival of the boat. (10am-12pm)

The fun is just about to start...

We didn't expect the beach is so beautiful until we reached there.

We were amazed by the beautiful view.
and the long sea slide.

Spot the crystal clear sea!

I knew there were few home dogs over there and I couldn't wait to see them, but then we just got to see the fatty Daisy there. (She is cute enough! We spent our three days over there with Daisy)

Free wifi is available there.

Looks at the clear sea.

The meals...

Playing Jenga while waiting our dinner.

The cafe & bar

Trampoline at another resort but it is open, so we sneaked in and had fun.

Lucky us, we saw blue sand (蓝眼泪) which cannot be captured by the camera.

The swing.

They have novels and chess

Girls went to photoshooting.

The beautiful sunset

Drank beers by the beach, chi-chatted, played game.

And so lucky again, we got to see meteor rain!

We got some fresh juice and cocktail to refresh.

While they were playing Monopoly,

I played kite hahahaha

This is how we chilled by the beach

Some sea activities

The person in charge in jetty told us that the slide is actually own by Rawa Island Resort, but the people there are kind enough, because no one come to scold us while we were playing the slide.

White soft sand

Kayak!!!

If you look for more activities (windsurfing & etc), you can head to Rawa Island Resort, they charge a certain fees.

Until now, I haven't forgotten the fun and joy we had at the paradise.
Relax, chill, laugh
I am missing the moment.
I would like to go again.
Rawa Island, see you again.

    1. Hi :) we spent around RM 500 per person over thr which included the resort, meals, and boat transfers. You can order and pay for the drinks over the bar because the package they offer is not including drinks. For any activities, remember to bring cash to pay for deposit for all the equipment you borrow. As for night, if you would prefer night life, recommend you to go during the weekend (Fri-Sun) as they don't open the bar till late night on weekdays. For me and my friends, we brought beers and snacks by ourselves (secretly).
As for the latest package price, please refer the resorts' official website ya as I believe the rate is much higher now. :)
